Petroleum casing is mainly used to support the wellbore of oil and gas wells, and is an important guarantee for the normal operation of oil and gas wells after drilling and completion. Due to factors such as the selection, quality, transportation, storage, and use of oil casing, casing damage often occurs, leading to reduced production or even scrapping of oil and gas wells, causing significant economic losses to oil and gas enterprises. The following is an analysis of the key points of quality control during the procurement and transportation stages of petroleum casing.
1. Procurement stage
According to the exploration and development deployment and drilling plan, users need to develop a demand plan in advance, including model, steel grade, buckle type, wall thickness, length range, weight, quantity, and special requirements, such as specification grade, thread grease model, thread protector type, raw material manufacturer, etc.
The key control points are as follows:
(1) Understand the type of oil casing, steel grade, thread type, wall thickness, length range, weight, quantity, and special requirements.
(2) Clarify petroleum casing standards, such as API standards, national standards, industry standards, enterprise standards, etc. Relatively speaking, API standards are relatively loose, and each standard has different details. When filling out the ordering conditions, it is necessary to clarify the standards. API pipes are usually used, and if they belong to subordinate enterprises such as PetroChina, they also need to meet the standards of our group's enterprises.
(3) Check the sales performance, quality, and service of similar products from suppliers in the past three years, and check for any negative records.
(4) Clarify the quality inspection methods, implementation standards, inspection items, and judgment standards for petroleum casing.
(5) The procurement evaluation committee suggests that technical personnel from the user unit, testing agency, procurement department, and relevant departments participate. If necessary, technical personnel from drilling and other operating units can be invited to participate. Choose a petroleum casing manufacturer with a reasonable price while fully considering quality.
(6) Strictly follow the prescribed procedures and requirements for procurement.
The key control points for the transportation of oil casing are as follows:
(1) During loading, unloading, and transportation, oil casing should be prevented from being damaged due to collision or impact.
(2) It is not allowed to use hooks to directly hook thread protectors to lift pipes, and lifting straps should be used for loading and unloading.
(3) Before transportation, the oil casing should be firmly fixed, and there should be no front, back, left, or right movement between the casing and the bracket.
(4) In principle, the length of oil casing should not exceed 1 meter of the length of the carriage. The length of the pipeline is too long, which increases the possibility of slipping and deformation caused by ups and downs.
(5) During transportation, sudden braking should be avoided to prevent damage to the pipe body and threads due to back-to-back movement and collision of the pipe body.
